If you’re preparing to apply as a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200, RYS 300, or RYS 500) with Yoga Alliance, it’s common to confuse your Training Manual with your curriculum. They work together, but they’re not the same.
Understanding the Training Manual
A Training Manual is a written resource that outlines what your trainees study. It’s a required document in your Yoga Alliance application. The training manual demonstrates that your content aligns with the four educational categories:
Techniques, Training & Practice
Anatomy & Physiology
Yoga Humanities
Professional Essentials
Brain Cradle® Training Manuals provide a standardized foundation. They contain clear, Yoga Alliance–aligned content written within the Scope of Practice. Each manual also serves as a meaningful companion for trainees. It offers space for reflection and personal notes to support genuine embodiment of the practice.
Defining the Curriculum
Your curriculum is how you deliver your training. It includes your schedule, teaching methods, assignments, practicum hours, guest lecturers, and all other experiences that shape your program.
Yoga Alliance reviews both components through Part 1 and Part 2 of the application process. The Training Manual demonstrates what is being taught, while the Curriculum outlines how that content is delivered and assessed.
Why the Difference Matters
Understanding the distinction between the Training Manual and the curriculum is crucial. Brain Cradle doesn’t create curricula; instead, it provides the standardized manual that supports yours. This ensures your training stays within Yoga Alliance’s Scope of Practice and meets documentation requirements while leaving full creative control in our hands.
Key Features of Brain Cradle® Training Manuals
Each Brain Cradle® Training Manual includes:
Custom white-label branding with your Yoga School name, logo, and Lead Trainer details for a professional, cohesive trainee experience.
A Mind Map outlining all 210 topics introduced in the manual, along with a practical guide on how to translate that content into a Training Schedule aligned with Yoga Alliance standards.
Comprehensive written material covering all four Yoga Alliance educational categories: Techniques, Training & Practice; Anatomy & Physiology; Yoga Humanities; and Professional Essentials.
Optional Add-Ons for schools wishing to expand their foundational training with elective content and deeper areas of study.
